Berlin Wall Sites Near Ausstellung zum Mauergedenken

This open-air exhibition at Potsdamer Platz features informational displays mounted between original segments of the Berlin Wall. Created in 2005 to mark the 20th anniversary of the wall's fall, it was originally intended as a temporary installation but was made permanent due to overwhelming public interest. The displays document the history of the wall at this location, where one of the busiest squares in pre-war Berlin was turned into a empty wasteland for 28 years. Potsdamer Platz was one of the first places where the wall was breached on the night of November 9, 1989.
